An image of police violence that comes to us from one of the most (in)famous periods in modern British history. It depicts the war between the State and its populace. A war of economic destruction and job loss. A collapse of communities and work. Dave Proctor and James Barrett will be presenting an evening that describes and critiques what occurred in the UK in the 1980s and 90s. From the Miner’s Strike of 1984 – 85 to the Travellers and Raves of the same period, ending with the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act of 1994. This will be a multimedia live performance with songs, drones, improvisation, audio snippets, video footage, archive descriptions, samples, ancient and modern instruments. An immersive sensory environment that will help explain some of how we got into our present global chaos and conflict. The event will begin at 20:00 on Wednesday 6th August 2025 at Larry’s Corner culture emporium, Grindsgatan 35, 118 57 Stockholm. Be there at least 10 minutes before the start to ensure your place – seating is limited to 25. You can swish 100 kr for your ticket to 073 080 1491 (James Barrett), with a message of “Instant History” in it. We look forward to sharing minds. James and Dave
