Said Belhaj, founder / band leader of Bambaraoui with his mentor Christer Bothén.

CB studied donso music / donso n'goni in Wassoulou / Mali 1971/72 with karamogo Broema Dombia.

Then gnawa / guimbri in Marrakech / Morocco from 1977 and onwards with m'allem Abdellatif El Makchzoumi.

CB was probably one of the first ever to mix gnawa with donso music, connecting gnawa with parts of its roots.
